Before we begin.
CHECK to see if there is any ongoing damp in the walls.
Kitchens and Bathrooms, check old leaks or damage caused by floods from taps, pipes and appliances aren't still happening. Penetrating damp could mean Cracked Render or masonry, blocked / damaged gutters, leaking roofs causing water ingress, that may not be covered by buildings insurance. Damp proof courses (DPC) can degrade over a lot of years, and simple Condensation isn't just an issue with badly installed or poorly ventilated windows, it can build up inside cavity walls. Black Mould is the obvious sign of potential problems with damp, but it doesn't always show on internal walls.
Check everything first, fix anything needed; THEN install Direct Cladding so you may never have to worry again.
